Simple Tips for Beating Depression and Anxiety

Over the past decade I have had four medically diagnosed periods of my life when I have suffered the ravaging effects of depression. On refection I also believe that most of my teenage years were spent battling depression although at the time I did not realise this, and it certainly went undiagnosed during that time.

 

Whilst each diagnosis saw me taking antidepressants, I began to realise that I needed more than medication to help me.


MEDICATION ALONE IS NOT THE SOLUTION


I wanted to learn my personal warning signs of a depressive episode coming on. With the hope that by recognising these signs I might be able to lessen the time I am effected by depression, or even halt it completely.

This has not been something I have achieved, simply because depression is such an unpredictable illness. However I have been able to develop three simple techniques that work in tandem with antidepressants to help me through the worst of my depression.


SIMPLE TIPS AND TECHNIQUES THAT WORKED FOR ME - & OTHERS

 

They are incredibly simple, yet very effective. I have passed these techniques on to other people when I've been given the opportunity to speak about my experiences with depression.

 

butterfly_embossPeople are often surprised at how simple they are and are sometimes doubtful that they will work for them. Yet those that I have come across after my talks, have expressed their pleasure at finding the techniques also worked for them.

 

It is my hope that by sharing these techniques with others through this book, more people will have the opportunity to learn how to best manage their depression. Depression can be such a debilitating illness so by having tools to assist you, getting through a particularly hard day will hopefully become easier.
